PLAN AHEAD FOR CUSTOM WORK!
If your thinking about having one done on time for a particular date, be sure to get your request in preferably 8-10 weeks in advance. Commissioned drawings can be finished sooner than that, but it can be difficult. Even if you may not want it as soon as possible, specific dates for completion of a drawing can be arranged.

Pet commissions:
|
There is no better way to remember your cherished pet forever then a beautiful re-creation on paper. But why choose me? I challenge myself every time to try and capture the true character in each subject that I draw. I want to be sure that my drawings accurately replicate the pet I am doing. I take every precaution so that I know my clients will be getting an artwork of their own pet, and not just one with similarities. I put in hours doing meticulous work in areas such as the eyes. I also like to create a detailed background that represents the life of the particular pet I am drawing. Plain white backgrounds can leave you with such a blank and empty feeling. The drawing to the left here best represents what to expect as far as that.
I use various mediums in my colored works as well as my black and white. I started to add white pastels and black colored pencils into my commission work a while back and It has worked its way into my everyday techniques. Using these with a combination of graphite helps me achive a much better outcome than just plain old graphite.

Artist's statement:
|
|
Pets have always made up the majority of my commission work. I find pets such as dogs and cats to be very enjoyable subjects to re-create with a pencil. Although, I do love to explore new subject matter and I accept a wide range of requests. One might say that pets have been sort of my specialty however. Perhaps what draws me to pet commissions is because I'm able to give more to my clients than just a piece of art and give them something to cherish for a lifetime and maybe even pass on. I strive to bring out the individual personalities and distinct features in each of the pets that I do. I always approach each drawing with careful planning and delicate measures to ensure that I capture each pet as best as I can with respect to with what each particular client wants. Remember though, don't hesitate to request non-animal related custom work.

How it Works:
|
When a client commissions me for their pet, I ask them to send me a somewhat quality photo of their dog, cat, or whatever. The better the photo is, the better the drawing will most likely be. The subject in the photo should be posing similar to how you would like it drawn as well as be in a natural lighting type of setting. In other words, a nice photo of an upright dog in the backyard is a lot better than of a dog stretched out on the sofa inside.
For other types of commission work such as when a client requests a wildlife scene or maybe a completely unrelated subject, photo references provided by the clients are accepted, but not always required in certain cases.
After I recieve the photos (either through email or postage) I put the client on my waitlist. Waitlist time is usually not very long. Typically it will take me 2-3 weeks to finish a commission request. Upon finishing, I will upload a quality image of the drawing to present to the client for review. Then when they pay me either through paypal or money order, I ship the drawing in a very safe and secure package.

Worldwide rates vary with size.
So what about color?
My colored works are done with a delicate mixture of graphite, chalk pastels, colored pencils and acrylic paints. The time and effort involved in creating these pieces is much more than a standard graphite drawing. Therefore, I am a bit picky when it comes to accepting commission requests. Although, please do not hesitate to request a custom work of art in color as I may accept it. Pricing for custom work in color is more expensive than graphite and can vary from request to request. Generally, I will go by my rule of a 75% increase in price over graphite.
